Q:Are Canvas prints from Strangeling.com different from those on Zazzle?
A: Yes they are! Here are the differences:
*Strangeling.com: Ships from me, made at my house

*Strangeling.com: Hand painted by me, embellished with acrylic paints
*Zazzle.com: Not hand embellished
*Strangeling.com: Signed & Numbered, Limited Edition
*Zazzle.com: Not signed or numbered, Open Edition
*Strangeling.com: Maximum size 11"x14"
*Zazzle.com: Maximum size 78"x60"

*Zazzle.com: Choice of finishes, glossy, matte, etc.
*Strangeling.com: Loose, rolled, unframed ONLY
*Zazzle.com: Many framing & matting options, can be ready to hang!
*Strangeling.com: 11x14 Canvas costs $125
*Zazzle.com: 11x14 Canvas costs only $55
To order canvases from Strangeling.com - just visit my galleries, and click on the painting you'd like. Once you enlarge the thumbnail, the purchasing options are in the upper right hand corner - select "Buy Now" next to Lt. Ed. Canvas print!
To order canvases from Zazzle, visit my Zazzle print store HERE - click on the painting you'd like a canvas for, and it will take you to that image's page. In the upper right hand corner, you will see a box that says "print options". The first option is "Size" (pick a size), but after that is an option called "Media". Click Media. There are four options, two of which are canvas - you can select Platinum Matte UV Canvas or Platinum Gloss UV Canvas - some folks prefer not-so-shiny, some folks prefer shiny. I prefer shiny =) Then you can add the framing or matting elements under the third option, Framing.
Q:What does "Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Canvas Print" mean? How are they different from "Open Edition Prints"? Why do they cost more?
A: I have an FAQ ALL ABOUT my canvas prints HERE! Basically these are fancy photo-quality prints that are printed onto a sheet of real artist's canvas (Fredrix Canvas - the same brand I paint my original paintings on!). After it has been printed, I then go ahead with my usual acrylic paints and paint brushes and "hand embellish" each print individually, adding highlights and details in acrylic paint. I also hand-sign and number the prints in paint. I then paint each piece with a glossy giclee UV varnish which seals in the paint and inks. The print is then "heat set" at a high temperature to keep the ink from fading and making it water-resistant and very glossy! These beautiful and unique works of art truly are the "next best thing" to owning an original painting. Even as the actual artist myself, I find it difficult to tell the difference between one of these gorgeous prints and one of my original paintings!!! For more information, just check out the FAQ ALL ABOUT my canvas prints HERE! Please note - the Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Canvas prints here at strangeling.com are the ones I make myself - do not confuse these with the canvas options at my Zazzle print store. Those Zazzle are not part of the Limited Edition, are not signed, not numbered, and not hand-painted by me. They are just very nice prints printed out on canvas instead of paper. They're very nice too though, and come in much bigger sizes. So if you want a BIG canvas and don't need it to be hand-embellished or limited edition, I suggest going to my Zazzle print store HERE and just choosing the Canvas option (matte or glossy) and getting a big one there, even adding a frame for a spectacular showpiece! But if you want a smaller canvas that I (the artist) has hand painted and is limited edition, order the ones here at strangeling.com.
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions.
Please read it thouroughly, most questions can be answered here. If you do not see your question addressed, just Email me at JasmineToad@aol.com
Q: How much does it cost for shipping & handling?
A: Guess what? It's FREE. Yep, 100% free, anywhere in the world. The ONLY exception to this is with my statues & books, those suckers are heavy and often are shipped separately from prints. When you order them on my website, the shipping is added into the price. Everything else ships FREE. This just goes for strangeling.com orders though, not eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Zazzle, etc. - just the prints ordered right here from my house.
Q: How can I purchase your prints online?
A: Visit the Gallery section of this website and browse through the print galleries. Click on the small images to enlarge them and click the "Buy This" buttons to purchase. Just follow the payment instructions from there!
Or - even better, in some cases - just place your order through my Zazzle Print Shop HERE - they offer some better prices and many different paper options than I have here at home. Also MUCH bigger sizes & custom framing!
Q:I don't have a credit card/I am unable to place an online order. Can I still buy prints from you?
A: Certainly! Simply Email me to let me know which prints you would like to order, and your shipping address. I accept credit cards, checks and money orders in US funds. I will provide you with my address.
Q:I live outside the US. Can I still buy your prints?
A: Yes! Nearly all countries can order through my website. If not, you can still order directly from me by Emailing me with which prints you would like and your shipping address. And yes, even international shipping is also FREE!
Q:How long will it take to receive my order?
A: Please allow one to two weeks for delivery in the US.
Q:What is PayPal? Why am I asked to create a password?
A: PayPal is the service that powers my shopping cart service. All you need to use PayPal is an email address. You can pay with a credit card, debit card, or your checking account. It's easy to use and free! It is a secure ordering system and requires a password (you get to make one up if you have never used PayPal before). If you do not want to order online, simply Email me with the prints you would like to order and your shipping address, and I will provide you with an address to send your credit card number, a personal check or a money order to my studio.
Q:What sizes are your Open Edition prints at strangeling.com?
A: At this time, the Open Edition prints sold here on my website in my GALLERY come in two sizes - 8.5"x11" (or 11"x8.5" for horizontally aligned prints) and 13"x19" (or 19"x13" for horizontally aligned prints). These are the only photo-print sizes I make myself here at home, and are sold at strangeling.com These measurements indicate the total size of the print, and include a white mounting border which varies slightly in size. The actual printed image on the smaller prints is usually around 8"x10" so if you intend on framing or matting the prints you can mostly use 8"x10" sized mats/frames. The actual printed size on the larger prints is usually around 12"x16" so if you intend on framing or matting the prints you can use the a 12"x16" size mat/frame. I keep the prints proportional to the original paintings though (I don't crop or stretch things, of course not!) - so if the original painting was long and skinny, or an oval shape, or a very horizontally wide painting, etc. - the prints will be too. I try to indicate this in the item descriptions on the page for each print if anything's a bit off. Now - if you want BIGGER prints, or prints that are matted, framed, posters, etc. - please order instead from my Zazzle print store - their printers go up to 78" and most of my prints can be ordered there in sizes from 11x14 all the way up to big 60x78" prints. They have a wide variety of paper types & frames, etc. too - at prices better than I can offer, lol.
Q:What does "Open Edition" mean?
A: All of the photo prints I sell directly on this website (out of my house, here on my website) are what are called "Open Edition" prints. "Open Edition" prints are prints that I can reproduce at my discretion and are not limited in number. My Open Edition prints are photo prints in full colour on glossy photo-quality paper. They are vibrant, detailed prints taken directly from my original paintings. They are made here at my house with HP Vivera photo inks that are Archival and should last a hundred years!
Q:Do you sell framed or matted prints?
A: Yes - but only through my Zazzle print store - they handle all custom framing, matting, mounting, etc. The only thing we frame here at my house are Original Paintings, and then only occasionally. We are not set up here to frame or mat prints, all strangeling.com prints ship un-matted, un-framed, un-mounted, un-stretched. So - if you want something ready to hang up or already framed - go to my Zazzle print store HERE! For more information on Zazzle's framing, prints, etc. read my page about that HERE.
Q:Can I use your pictures on my website, journal icon, email stationery, etc.?
A: For my current usage terms, please CLICK HERE! I allow free use in some cases, and in others (such as for tubes & tags) I license images through CILM HERE!
Q:I've seen illegal use or unauthorized copies of your artwork. What should I do?
A:Email Me right away! I have legal representation retained for such matters and I will pass along the info asap. Thank you to all of you who look out for me =) If you have seen illegal or unauthorized use specific to my tubes and images for signature tags through CILM you can contact them at:
Q:Where can I learn more about artists' copyrights?
A:The Visual Artists' Rights Act is a very helpful government document outlining an artist's rights to their intellectual property. Another helpful and informative site can be found HERE.
A: I'm very flattered that you have taken the time to learn more about me and my artwork! Basic info about me can be found on the "About Jasmine"
of this website. I also have an online Journal at Livejournal where I write a lot about my artistic endeavors, personal life, and where I showcase my new paintings! I also have a Facebook page and a MySpace and am Jasmine Becket on Twitter.
A: Mostly I sell many original paintings here on eBay - I usually start all of my auctions at just one penny, with no reserve! Or at the art shows & conventions HERE. I also have a small mailing list where I update my customers when I have new artwork available - if you are interested, you can join by entering your email address below:
Q:Will you do a custom painting for me? Can I commission you for a project? Can I hire you for some freelance work?
Q:There is a print of yours I can't find on your website, is it available?
A: It may still be available. Just Email Me with the title or basic description.
Enter your email address:

A: Indeed, I use myself as a model for many of my paintings. For example:
Q:Do you have any books out?
A: Yes! I am compiling a new section of my website HERE which features a listing (and purchase info) for all of the books featuring my artwork. I now have three "solo" art books featuring my art - "Portfolio Volume I" from 2008, "Portfolio Volume II" from 2009 and an earlier book - "Fairy: The Art of Jasmine Becket-Griffith" from 2005. A lot of books are also in bookstores, at Amazon.com, etc. I currently have several other books in the works - I will update as they progress!

Q:Can I buy T-Shirts, stickers, etc. featuring your artwork?
A: Yes! I have contracts with a dozens of merchandising companies that produce lines of many different products (stickers, clothing, posters, candles, air fresheners, etc.) featuring my artwork! Many of them are now at retail stores throughout the country, and you can also buy a lot of the stuff HERE on my Merchandise page! I'm on Zazzle too!
Q:I think we have a lot in common, will you be my pen pal?
A: Awww!!! I absolutely love meeting new friends online, and corresponding with my fans!!!! Unfortunately due to the sheer bulk of email I receive and time spent processing orders, etc. I don't have a lot of free time to write letters, as much as I enjoy it. Otherwise I wouldn't have any time to paint! However, I do have a very active Facebook page HERE which I keep expressly for keeping in touch with my family, online friends, and fans!! You are MORE than welcome to comment on any of my posts whenever you like! I check there every day and write back to just about everybody very quickly, sometimes within just a few minutes - I keep my IPhone by my painting desk and post on there when paint is drying, hehe. Ask me anything - I hope to see you there! Again my Facebook page is HERE!
Q:What other kinds of prints do you sell?
A: On this website (strangeling.com) - I offer both my Open Edition prints (glossy photo paper) and my new "Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Canvas Prints" - visit the GALLERY and click on the thumbnail images to see the different types of prints offered. Those are the only types I make here at home. You may also want to visit my Zazzle print store HERE! The Zazzle store prints ship separately from strangeling.com prints - they are made by the Zazzle factory printers and they have a phenomenal amount of choices, sizes, frames, etc.
Q:Do you ever have sales or discounts on your prints?
A: Yes! Not here, but I regularly have big print sales up at eBay!!! You can check if I have anything on sale at a discounted price right now by clickingHERE! Even better (and cheaper) are the sales I run on my prints & merchandise up at my Zazzle Store - sometimes as low as 60% off depending on the sales they're running. To see their current sales & get their coupon codes - click HERE to see! Then just go to my Zazzle Store and enter the coupon codes during checkout. They really have some great sales, and often!
Q:I'm interested in ordering wholesale or licensing your artwork!
A: Wonderful! I license a lot of my art, and I also sell my prints wholesale. Just visit my WHOLESALE PAGE HERE for more information!!!
Q:Do you have big posters to decorate my room?
A: Yes! At my Zazzle poster store HERE- up to 78" in many cases. You can even have them framed or mounted there!
Q:Hey, I saw your name written Jasmine Beckett-Griffith with two "t"s!
A: That means that you saw it mis-spelled. Despite my best efforts, many people cannot seem to spell my name correctly. It should be Jasmine Becket-Griffith, with ONE T in "Becket". NOT Jasmine Beckett-Griffith with TWO TS in "Beckett". Not right. One T. I know that even books and merchandise of mine have printed my name incorrectly. It is wrong. One "t" in Becket. Jasmine Becket-Griffith, NOT Jasmine Beckett-Griffith. Thank you for listening to my rant.
Q:Hey, I want your art but I have no money, Can I have something for free?
A: Since my artwork is my full-time job and the only source of income for my family, I really can't give you much for free. The mortgage must be paid, the car, the bills, our food, etc. HOWEVER I do have a monthly contest where the winner gets to choose a FREE print - you can enter that contest up to once a motnth, right here: JASMINE'S CONTEST!
Q: I live in Florida too, can I come to your house and pick up my order?
A: Sorry folks, due to security and privacy issues, and the sheer number of people who want to do this, I do not allow this at this time.
Q: Can I come visit your studio?
A: Sorry folks, due to security and privacy issues, and the sheer number of people who want to do this, I do not allow this at this time. My "studio" is
in my house, where my dining room should be, and I don't let people in my
house if I don't know them. Please do not be offended - would you let a stranger into your home just because they asked politely?
Q: Can I take you out to dinner or meet you somewhere?
A: I'm surprised how many people ask me this, but no. Flattering as it may be. Seriously - I'll get emails asking this and I don't even know the person's
name or if they are a male or female, child or adult, good person or bad
person. You have to remember, just because you enjoy somebody's artwork
and you may feel as if you know them, keep in mind that the artist might not
know you, or anything about you, and it might be a scary thing to go
meet a stranger just because they like your artwork! Please do not take offense. I'm very very shy, and I have to be very careful for various reasons about meeting people online - stalker issues, unsavoury people, etc. Also - I am NOT exaggerating when I say that I paint almost all the time. Seriously - any
free time I have, I typically want to spend with my family, or, um, go grocery
shopping or something like that. And for heaven's sake, please don't ask me on a date - I AM MARRIED.
Q:But I want to meet you! And have you sign something! How can I do that?
A: Please don't get me wrong - I like to meet my fans! I love it! I just don't want my privacy and security compromised, lol. SO - I'm going to make a concerted effort to make a few "public appearances" each year where you can come and see me at fairs, festivals, conventions, etc. in a fun setting where we can chat and I can sign your books, prints, etc. and you can see my artwork in person, etc. I love that type of thing! (I just don't like people skulking in the bushes outside my house, I hope that makes sense!). To see a list of my upcoming appearances, click HERE!
Q:Will you be at such-and-such festival? Or such-and-such convention?
A: Maybe so! I love that type of thing, and I am making an effort this year to try to "get out" away from the computer and do some "real life" shows, fairs, festivals and conventions. To see a list of my upcoming appearances, click HERE!
Q:We run a convention/fair/festival. Will you be our guest?
A: Yes, yes yes! I am incredibly flattered that you want one! And if you Email Me a photo, I'll even put it up on my tattoo page HERE. For additional info CLICK HERE to read my usage terms and for links where you can get my tattoo flash sheets to use!
Q:Do you have your Usage Terms posted online?
A: Yes, I sure do: CLICK HERE to read my usage terms.
Q: Will you sign my print?
A: If you are ordering through Strangeling.com (not Zazzle, Amazon, Art.com, etc.) then - yes! Just email me at JasmineToad@aol.com right after you place your order, and be sure the subject line of the email says something like "Sign my print, please" and in the body of the email, tell us what you just ordered and how you'd like it signed (front, back, Happy Birthday, etc.). Also note it in the Note field when ordering. That way we'll be less likely to miss your request (email, and Note!). Again though - I can't sign prints ordered through Zazzle, Amazon, Art.com etc. because those ship from their factories/printers - not from my living room like the strangeling.com prints.
Q: Can I get my print framed? Matted? Ready to hang?
A: Yes you can! But not from me - instead, I have my Zazzle print store that handles all custom framing, matting, mounting, etc.
Q: I want BIGGER PRINTS, or POSTERS or Matte Finish or etc.!
A: The prints I make myself (here on strangeling.com) are not too big, they max out at 13x19. So - I have my Zazzle print store - their printers go up to 78" and most of my prints can be ordered there in sizes from 11x14 all the way up to big 60x78" prints. Also they offer framing, posters, and different papers than I can offer. So - definitely go to my Zazzle print store HERE! For more information on Zazzle's framing, prints, etc. read my page about that HERE.
Q:Tell me more about your canvas prints, and how they are made!
A: As for the ones from strangeling.com - I make those all myself! I have an FAQ ALL ABOUT my personal canvas prints HERE!
Q:Hey - my friend saw you at an art show and you had little mini-prints, stretched canvas prints, cheap prints, all sorts of prints that aren't for sale here. Is this true?
A: Yes, yes it is. I have all kinds of little mini prints and other types of prints (some are indeed very inexpensive) that I sell ONLY at art shows. I don't sell them on the internet, period. You have to come to art shows & conventions to get them! That's part of what makes coming to one of my appearances a bit special - you can get things there you can't get elsewhere. To see when my next show is, and where - visit my Appearances Page HERE!
Q:Are you on Facebook?
A: Yes! Originally I had a Facebook personal page, but it hit the 5000 maximum limit as soon as the fans found it, so it won't let me accept any new friend requests. SO - what I did is create a brand new Facebook page HERE and set it up as a fanpage so I can have unlimited friends/fans. I post there every single day with new art, works in progress, daily thoughts, personal stuff, new projects, etc. and chat with all my friends there. Just click this link: Jasmine's Facebook page
Q:Are you on LiveJournal?
A: Yes! I'm JasmineToad - you can see my LiveJournal page here:
Q:I live OVERSEAS or outside the US and I have questions about your Bradford Exchange or Hamilton Collection or Hawthorne Village or Ashton Drake products!
A: Cool! I have a whole page all about it, here, for non-US folks:
